GEOMDISS Work packages

The work is divided into three scientific work packages (WP). WP1 is focused on geometric gates in circuit QED setups, WP2 is focused on geometric pumping of charge in superconducting circuits, and WP3 is focused on geometric effects in quantum dots and nanowires.

The objective of WP1 is to investigate geometric phase effects in the circuit QED architecture. The core tasks of WP1 involve investigations in nonadiabatic contributions to the geometric phase and the characterization of dissipative corrections to the geometric phase for different kinds of noise sources. The primary goals of this workpackage are: a) analysis of the transition from adiabatic to nonadiabatic geometric phases, b) characterization of the effect of noise on the geometric phase, c) implementation of geometric quantum gates in circuit QED systems, d) design of superconducting circuits involving degenerate subspaces for holonomic quantum computation.
