Abstract

The Kondo lattice model describes a lattice of localized spins
coupled to a band of conduction electrons and is the generic
model to describe heavy fermion compounds. We discuss a
representation of the model where the eigenstates of a single unit cell are representedas fermionic or bosonic particles. The resulting theory qualitatively describes the heavy fermi liquid and
its transitions to different antiferromagnetic phases and can be
improved to quantitatively reproduce various numerical
results for the Kondo lattice model.
