Abstract

With the imminent re-start of operations of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), high energy physics is
about to witness a further important step forward in its quest for answers to fundamental questions
about our Universe. I will review the scientific challenges, and illustrate the opportunities, offered by
the future LHC investigations, as well as status of planning for the very far future of the field.
