Abstract

Recent experimental advances enabled combining classical experiments on quasiparticle tunnelling between quantum Hall edges with controllable heating of one of the edges. This experimental advance opens the door for asking new questions and answering long-standing questions about the edge physics. I will tell about a recent experimental work investigating energy relaxation at quantum Hall edges (in the analysis of which I was involved) [1]. I will also discuss a theory proposal and ongoing experimental work on determining the properties of quantum Hall quasiparticles using heated tunnelling contacts.
